Activities

The house is ideally situated to enjoy all the activities the village and surrounding area have to offer. There are excellent walks from the house and around the village with miles of forest tracks and footpaths easily accessible. The Speyside way passes close by and further afield there is easy access to many Munros and other hills. The area is also perfect for cyclists with a large network of forestry tracks and routes , varying from short child friendly trips into the forest , to long expeditions into the heart of the Cairngorms.

There are tennis courts and a 9 hole golf course in the village and excellent 18 hole golf courses in neighbouring villages. Salmon fishing is available close by on the river Spey. The famous RSPB Osprey Centre at Loch Garten is nearby and there is a wealth of bird and wild life in the area . Deer are sometimes seen from the back garden.

In winter there is skiing at Cairngorm and the Lecht , both a short drive away and in summer there are great opportunities for watersports at Loch Morlich and Loch Insh where sailing , canoeing and windsurfing are possible. Loch Morlich also has a pleasant beach for swimming.

At nearby Carrbridge is the Landmark Visitor Centre , in a forest setting with a heritage centre , raised woodland walk and fantastic outdoor playareas and waterslides for children and adults. It is easy to spend a day enjoying its attractions. Aviemore has a swimming pool with flume and wave machine , an indoor climbing wall and many other attractions including a childrens fun house at Coylumbridge Hotel

Other local attractions include the picturesque steam train trip from Broomhill (Glenbogle ) Station ,about a mile from the village , which goes to Aviemore via Boat of Garten , and the Cairngorm Mountain Railway which takes passengers close to the summit of Cairngorm .
